I read some from George Thomas Cottam's life on FamilySearch (see the link below). Below is a cool story we found.
In 1877 and 1888 George was a minute-man to take President Wilford Woodruff, who was in
hiding here and making his home with Father and Mother Cottam, and others to places to safety from
the United States Marshals. At that time all poligamist men were being arrested and punished for what
they claimed to be right. Sometimes George would go and come back in the night taking them as far as
Atkinville. Other times he would be gone several days going to Bunkerville or some other Nevada town.
His team and wagon were ever ready to go if a tap came on his bedroom window.
