Makom is thrilled to offer students an incredible opportunity to earn SSL hours while making a difference in the community on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025!
Makom, an organization supporting
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is launching an
annual MLK Day of Service tradition:
Makom MLK Day - Doing Tikkun Olam Together.
This impactful event will feature six stations where participants will create items for six different communities in need, including:
- Children in hospitals
- Women in shelters
- Individuals experiencing homelessness
- Seniors in nursing homes
- Pets in shelters
- Healthcare providers
The event is open to everyone regardless of age, background, or religion and will take place at:
B’nai Israel Congregation
6301 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD 20852
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
We are thrilled to share that SSL hours will be awarded, thanks to approval from the Montgomery County Volunteer Center.
