Lucknow: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)
has simplified the procedure for Internet ticket refund. It has
proposed a new TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) application which will
process the TDR cases for refund of tickets online.

The customers can now file their TDR refund claims online on the
link www.irctc.co.in -- my transaction -- file TDR. The refund
claims, thus filed, will be transferred electronically to module-II
used by IRCTC corporate office TDR filter. Customers will also be
able to view their current TDR/TDR refund status.

In the earlier process, customers had to write a mail to IRCTC
customer care to initiate refund through TDR process. The customer
care in turn forwarded the details of the email along with the other
two requisite documents to the zonal railway concerned to process
the case for refund. It was a time taking procedure.

Now, the IRCTC has made the process online to reduce manual paper
work and speed up the TDR process. This will also improve the
profile of services offered to customers.

Besides, the IRCTC is also focussing on the quality of services
offered by pantry cars in the trains. The raids have been conducted
in 42 mail/express/superfast trains from October 10 and Rs 5,14,000
has been recovered as fines from the licensees found flouting the
standards.

The raids will also be conducted at various major stations to check
unauthorised vendors and ticket frauds.
