Dear colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce the 19th European Workshop on Reinforcement Learning (EWRL 2026), which will take place October 5–7, 2026, in Lille, France. EWRL is the gathering hub for the RL research community in Europe and one of the world’s leading events in the field. This year’s edition promises to be an exciting opportunity to present top-quality research, discuss open problems, and explore future directions in reinforcement learning.

We welcome contributions from either theoretical or applied reinforcement learning:

Paper submission deadline: May 29, 2026 (AoE)

Notification of acceptance: July 10, 2026 (AoE)

Submissions can be made via OpenReview with detailed instructions here. Following the experiment from the previous edition of EWRL, there will be a fast track for papers accepted in machine learning conferences in 2025 or 2026, but also the opportunity to submit more recent work.

The workshop will be held at the University of Lille and we already have a nice line-up of speakers, including Nathan Grinsztajn (Mistral AI), Anders Jonsson (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), Sao Mai Nguyen (ENSTA Paris), Alexandre Proutiere (KTH), Giorgia Ramponi (University of Zurich), Aviv Tamar (Technion), and Ambuj Tewari (University of Michigan).

More information can be found on our website. We hope that you will consider submitting your work at the workshop and look forward to seeing you in Lille!

The EWRL 2026 Organizing Committee
