Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce our NeurIPS workshop XAI4Science: Knowledge Discovery and Trust through Interpretable Foundation Models workshop!
About the Workshop
Weather and climate foundation models now rival physics-based forecasts at a fraction of the computational cost, but their reasoning remains opaque and they can produce physical hallucinations.
This workshop focuses on addressing these challenges through:
Ante-hoc interpretability
Post-hoc attribution and its faithfulness
Physics-consistent explanations
Closely related topics in trustworthy and interpretable machine learning for science
