[PhD position] Funded UK Home-Fee PhD Position in Foundations of AI at UCL

I am recruiting a PhD student to join my new group in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at University College London (UCL), starting towards the end of this year.

Research areas include:

• Reinforcement learning, Bayesian optimisation and sequential decision-making

• Generative models and transformers

with applications in electrical and communication engineering.

Position details:

• Host: Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, UCL, London, UK

• Start date: tentatively November 2026

• Funding: fully funded at the UK home-fee rate, including tuition at the home rate and a stipend

Candidate profile:

• A strong analytical and mathematical background is required.
