Reasoning Web Summer School – Part of Declarative AI 2026

27–30 August 2026
Vilnius, Lithuania

The purpose of these grants is to support students who have limited or no access to other funding for their attendance at the Reasoning Web (RW) Summer School 2026. Grants will be awarded as registration fee waivers, and we expect to offer between 5 and 6 grants in total.

The Reasoning Web Summer School is held as part of the Declarative AI 2026 event cluster, featuring several events, including DecisionCamp, the RuleML+RR 2026 conference, and multiple satellite events (Rule ChallengeDoctoral ConsortiumIndustry Track, and Networking Session).

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: 1 July 2026

  • Notification of results: 8 July 2026

Application Process

Applications for the grant should be submitted as a single ZIP file named using the format:

LastNameFirstName.zip

The ZIP file should contain the following documents in PDF format:


  1. Applicant Statement
    A brief statement from the applicant (up to 500 words) outlining:

    • how they have contributed or plan to contribute to the field of AI; and

    • how they will benefit from attending the summer school.

  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    A detailed CV, including a list of publications, if the applicant has already published in scientific venues.

  3. Supervisor Letter
    A signed letter from the applicant’s supervisor certifying the applicant’s status (e.g., PhD student) and explaining why financial support is needed (e.g., no grants or institutional funds are available to the student).

Selection Criteria

In the likely case that the total amount requested exceeds the available budget, applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • The extent to which attendance at RW will impact the applicant's research career.

  • The extent to which other funding is available to the applicant.
