Hi rl-list!

A reminder about the ongoing call for papers for the Language and
Reinforcement Learning workshop @Neurips2022.

Important dates:

Submission deadline: 22nd September 2022

Acceptance Notification: 14th October 2022

Workshop date: 2nd December 2022, in-person @Neurips2022, New Orleans, LA, USA

Website: https://larel-workshop.github.io/

Abstract:

Language is one of the most impressive human accomplishments and is
believed to be the core to our ability to learn, teach, reason and
interact with others. Yet, the ability of current state-of-the art
reinforcement learning agents to understand natural language is
limited. The aim of the workshop on Language in Reinforcement Learning
is to steer discussion and research of the intersection between
language and RL by bringing together researchers from several
communities, including reinforcement learning, robotics, natural
language processing, computer vision and cognitive psychology.

We welcome submissions on any work at the intersection of language and
reinforcement learning. Examples of topics include:

language-instructed agents,

agents evolving in purely linguistic, text-based environments,

agents leveraging multi-modal inputs including linguistic ones,

agents leveraging external text corpora,

works on novel environments and benchmarks involving multi-modal
perceptions including language

Submission instructions:
Submissions must be made through our OpenReview page. They must be
anonymized, up to 4 pages long and must use the NeurIPS 2022 LaTeX
format. Appendices can be added to the main PDF. Each paper will
receive two reviews in a double-blind process.

We welcome original research, short reviews, opinion papers or
propositions of novel learning environments. We accept dual
submissions. Authors can upload concise versions of parallel
submissions to other conferences such as NeurIPS main conference or
ICLR. We discourage submitting to multiple NeurIPS workshops.

Although there will be no proceedings, all accepted papers will be
made available on the workshop website.
