Dear RL Community,

We are seeking a highly motivated student to join the Intelligent Interactive Systems lab at the University of Innsbruck (Austria) for a fully funded, 3-year PhD position in Reinforcement Learning.

This FWF-funded project aims to advance the theoretical and algorithmic aspects of off-policy reinforcement learning. The successful candidate will work in direct collaboration with two leading figures in the field:

  • Martha White (University of Alberta)

  • Carlo d'Eramo (University of Würzburg)

You will be joining a highly collaborative research environment with access to powerful computing clusters, advanced robotics platforms, and a broad international network. Furthermore, you will live and conduct your research in the beautiful Alpine setting of Innsbruck, located just 30 minutes from both Germany and Italy.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • A rigorous background in machine learning, ideally with a focus on RL

  • Fluency in mathematics

  • Excellent programming skills

  • Analytic problem-solving and great communication skills

  • Fluency in spoken and written English
