Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite submissions to DAI 2026, the 8th International Conference on Distributed Artificial Intelligence, to be held at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, from November 29 to December 2, 2026.

The theme of DAI 2026 is:

Agentic AI Goes Live: Science, Systems, and Societies

This year, DAI 2026 is launching two special tracks that may be of particular interest to the reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, and agentic AI communities:

1. Industry Track

The new Industry Track welcomes papers on deployed systems, real-world case studies, benchmarks, demos, engineering lessons, and operational experience in distributed and agentic AI.

We especially encourage submissions on real-world RL and multi-agent systems, including deployed agentic workflows, large-scale coordination systems, online and offline evaluation, reliability, human-in-the-loop deployment, observability, safety, and governance in production environments.

2. AI Paper Track

The new AI Paper Track is an experimental venue for research in which AI agents contribute substantively to the scientific process. The track welcomes AI-led and human-AI collaborative research workflows, including agents that generate hypotheses, design experiments, implement methods, analyze results, conduct literature review, or assist in writing and reviewing.

For the RL community, this track creates a venue for studying research agents, self-improving systems, multi-agent research teams, automated experimentation, AI-for-science workflows, and benchmarks for evaluating scientific autonomy and reproducibility.

DAI 2026 also welcomes regular Research Track submissions on the theory, methods, systems, evaluation, and applications of distributed AI, autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, and agentic AI.

Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

- reinforcement learning and multi-agent reinforcement learning
- cooperative, competitive, and mixed-motive learning
- self-play, curriculum learning, open-ended learning, and continual learning
- reward design, credit assignment, exploration, and evaluation
- scalable agent learning and post-training for agents
- LLM-based agents, tool-using agents, memory, planning, and agent infrastructure
- multi-agent coordination, communication, negotiation, and human-agent interaction
- embodied multi-agent systems, multi-robot learning, and world models
- AI agents for scientific discovery and automated experimentation
- safety, governance, reproducibility, and evaluation of agentic AI systems

Important dates:

- Abstract registration: July 27, 2026
- Research / Industry paper submission: August 3, 2026
- AI Paper Track submission: August 10, 2026
- Notification: September 16, 2026
- Camera-ready deadline: October 16, 2026
- Conference: November 29 - December 2, 2026

All deadlines are 23:59 Anywhere on Earth (AoE, UTC-12).

We would be grateful if you could share this CFP with colleagues, students, and collaborators working on reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, autonomous agents, agentic AI, and AI for science.

Best regards,

Ying Wen
