A Seminar on Value Education was organized by Ramakrishna Mission
Vivekananda Memorial, Vadodara for Principals and Teachers of English
Medium Schools of Vadodara on 21st August, 2012 as a part of the 150th
birth anniversary celebration of Swami Vivekananda. It was inaugurated
by Dr (Smt) Mrunalini Devi Puar, Chancellor, The Maharaja Sayajirao
University of Baroda. She shared her personal experience of teaching
life with the teaching community saying that her unforgettable
movement of life was when Dr. A P J Abdul kalam while receiving Ph.d.
degree awarded by the Maharaja sayajirao University of Baroda from her
hands remarked that of all the Ph.d. degree received by him, that one
was Special because he was receiving it from the hands of a teacher.

Shri Mahendrabhai Jani, Director of Vivekananda Vidyapith, New
Jersery USA shared his valuable experiences related to Value Education
and the secret of his success. Dr S P Chaudhary, District Education
Officer, Vadodara stressed on the urgent necessary of imparting Value
Education in all the Educational institutions. The participants were
given practical suggestions of introducing value education in their
own schools and they were also requested to motivate the students to
participate in the State Level written Quiz Competition organised by
Ramakrishna Mission. The participants departed from the Ashrama
premises with satisfaction and a gift packet of books on Value
Education.

Another seminar on Value Education was organised on 22nd August for
Gujarati Medium Schools of Vadodara. This was inaugurated by Prof.
Yogesh Singh,
Vice-chancellor, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, who in
his inspiring speech said that Swami Vivekananda brought back
self-confidence and pride in our motherland, which we had lost through
slavery of centuries. The participants responded warmly to the
practical suggestions given to them for introducing value education in
their educational institutions based on the ideas of Swami
Vivekananda. They were all gifted books related to value education.
