If you are looking forward to spring as much as we are, then you’re probably already thinking about getting into your bees and splitting your colonies. A great place to start is by preordering your queens now so that you don’t get left out. We are offer virgin queens and mated queens again this year. We are biased towards our virgin queens, there is nothing like opening up a colony for the first time after she has mated successfully. The best part is that you can purchase three virgin queens for almost the same price as one mated queen from us! We know that introducing and mating a virgin queen may sound difficult, so we will give you all the details on how to properly introduce her into your colony when you pick up you queen or before we ship her to you. The instructions you receive are the same procedure we use to achieve 90% successful introduction and mating return in our operation. We are so confident in our virgin queen process, it has been featured in the May of 2022 American Bee Journal (see the preview below). Virgin Queens are ideal for:
· Making spring nucs from overwintered colonies. These can be used for honey producers next season or resource colonies for this season.

· Allowing a brood break to interrupt the varroa reproductive cycle.

Mated Queens are ideal for:
· Requeening aggressive colonies
· Queen failure due to age
· Replacing unproductive queens
