Auser has requested a certain website they use be added to their iPad home screens for easy access. I have never done this before and am sure it's something simple but how can I push this out with jamf? I have been searching but all I am seeing is adding bookmarks to Safari.

Thanks this helped me out big time. I'm use application restriction to control which apps are visible, and a home screen layout to configure placement. Before adding the "com.apple.webapp" bundle id I was unable to get the WebClips to work. (yes, I know this is old) I'm posting for others who may be in the same situation.

I've cleared out everything from Safari that's available in Settings (Clear History and Clear Cookies & Data), and when I navigate to the web app with Safari I see the app in its current state. However if I open the home screen bookmark I get the app in a pre-changed state.

It seems one doesn't have to update the number when your file has changed, as far as I can tell. Apparently, on an iPad 2 with the latest software update installed, it is enough to just hint at something dynamic.

I have an angular app I'm developing and ran into this issue when trying to test it on an iPad. By adding a meaningless query to the end of the url I was able to get a current version of all the assets.

You can force the open web app to reload without using the cache if you have the Safari Web Inspector open and pointing at your open web app. With the Web Inspector active, press SHIFT + COMMAND + R (on a Mac). You may need to refresh one more time to trigger the updated assets.

I've had luck with powering off the device.I had changed the app manifest; but presumably, you need a refresh or something to get the browser to look for it.Since I removed the browser chrome, there's no reset button. We tried "closing" the app (haha) and swiping the app away; but I presume iOS tends to keep things running anyway.Shutting down did the trick to get it to refresh.

I would like to be able to create a link on my iPad's home screen that will open up a specific PDF either in iBooks or some other app. I need to be able to access the PDF even when Internet access in not available.

My iPad is used by my 3-year-old son. I want to make it just as easy for him to open up the (non-DRM) PDF picture books we have as it is to open up a random app such as Elmo ABCs. Right now, in order to open his picture books, he has to go to iBooks and then open up the picture books. It sounds like a small step but it isn't for him.

I've tried accessing the PDF from Safari and then choosing the "Add to Home Screen" option. It does put an icon on the home screen but when clicked, it tries to open up the original site the PDF came from. As a result, this isn't a good solution unless there is a way to cache the PDF locally.

One of my Field Maps users at my agency has reported that the app crashes to his iPad's home screen frequently (if not 100% consistently) when he hits the 'submit' button on an inspection record he's completed.

I couldn't verify this behavior using the same form on my own iPhone, but I was able to observe the behavior on my colleague's iPad in person. After noticing that his input pane in Field Maps on his iPad jitters and scroll-jumps around a lot while he's trying to input information, I suggested that he remove the keyboard and try using the iPad in touch-only mode. This seems to have solved the issue. The UI no longer jitters and jumps around, and the form submissions are accepted without the app crashing.

Thank you so much for posting, I never would have guessed the problem being with the keyboard. I also had a user report this morning his app crashing. He is using an iPad 11 pro 16.4.1 with an Apple magic keyboard, Field Maps version 23.1.0.

The strange thing is that he was able to get one form submitted earlier this morning, but none since. I also noted that he is able to submit other data with the keyboard attached, just not this one specific feature that we have a field maps smart form tied to.

I seem to remember my user reporting that he was able to successfully submit one (or a few) records before the problem became insurmountable as well.

Since he stopped using his Magic Keyboard, he hasn't reported any issues with the specific Field Maps form in question.

Dear @Mattches Thanks for your reply but this would add a website to the brave home screen. As a user, I am lazy I would like to have youtube as an App on my iPhone so when I click it opens youtube on the Brave browser. Like a shortcut functionality on the desktop.

Since I have upgraded my Ipad to IOS 12, the screen and beep keeping apearing from the sleep mode ubout every few minutes and shows the 100% battery icon then shuts down and show the home screen come on then goes off. The Ipad is in a stand with a card reader. Cycling is annoying.

Just saw this thread. To answer your question the ipad stays on with the battery when I remove it but the cycling stopped. Again I have had no issues since removing and reseating the bottom plug. Yea!!

My Ipad stays on, but the screen blinks to life / flashes and there is a tone indicating that the battery is full / 100%.

I've reseated everything and it is still blinking and making that tone.

This is only happening when the screen is locked/off (but obviously the ipad is still on).

My unit also started again after I reseated the plug and it went away for a few weeks I finally used alittle electronic spray cleaner in the plug which has seemed to have solved the issue permenatly. I did not use but just a little spray and blew both plugs off with canned air for computers.

I have the same problem, I replaced the whole power supply/stand and the problem is gone for over a month then it come back again, before that I had the ipad replaced to make sure it's not the ipad problem. Look likes Square stand power supply is the problem. So flustrated.

I am still having issues and have found that when I move the stand for people to sign is when it starts again. I uplug the bottom and clean the connector with a small squirt of electronic cleaner it then it goes away for six weeks or so until it starts again.
