I encountered myself in a similar situation because of broken packages (Ubuntu complained on launching sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall; further in Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers my Nvidia graphics was locked to manual installation). I solved it like this:

I've been trying to install win11 on my MSI Pulse laptop, but whenever I boot from USB it gives me error "A media driver your computer needs is missing". I found out so far that INTEL VMD/IRST is responsible for this error. It's an new intel tech to improve your NVME ssd life.

First thing I wanna tell is Windows really sucks! This thing made me sit like a chicken for almost one day.For me I was setting up a new build using new m2 ssd with USB drive 3.1 for installing OS. Try the below to see if it working for you.

Write a Linux distribution(ubuntu would do) to USB stick. Boot the OS live . Download/COPY your ISO file. Format new SSD/HDD drive using NTFS using gparted, create a small partition like 10GB for Windows setup, simply copy or write using any tool(copy would do) the files inside ISO file to this partition, remove the stick, boot the PC from SSD itself, whola! you got working Windows Setup!

There are two methods I found to find and install the device drivers (one for the printer, and one for the scanner). I'll document the easiest one for Ubuntu users in the hopes that we can all learn something from this.

Note: possibly poor User interface on that web page - it is easy to miss large selection of other printer types in horizontal scrolling blue bar in middle of page. I think that is why I missed this simple solution the first time (doh!).

Have my first issue with my very first build after using computers and remembering the days before the interweb. I intended to be ambitious and to maybe over build with some headroom for future upgrades. Whatever I own I do try to ensure I get the best out of it and to that end I am bumping against installing Win10 after Raid 0 the two drives within the Bios. I have gone through the videos of trying to load bottom drivers then raid config but i still get get the windows setup to see them as raided drives. I need a detailed idiots guide rather than a detailed expert guide if that makes sense. Any help with videos or pdf's......at 43 I am feel it might be like teaching someone to use a spoon. Will continue my own searching and googling as there must be something I am missing.

3.Enter the Raidxpert2 menu in BIOS, you need to initialise (writes some data to the drives to prepare them for Raid) all hard drives that will be used for Raid. This option will be in the Raidxpert2 menu, so check all options.

I try raid 0. In bios I'm creating raid, and at first glance everything is fine (I can add screenshots from the BIOS). Then I made a bootable USB flash drive and added drivers there. During installation, I add 3 drivers sequentially from the DD folder, they are installed, but still two nvme disks are displayed.

Strange thing. tried again from the beginning. In the BIOS, I left SATA in AHCI mode (before that stood in raid), and nvme as raid. I got to the driver installation and this time I could not install anything from the nvme_did folder, the list was empty, like "incompatible with my equipment". But from the nvme_cc folder (for a different processor) - success, and one disk appeared! While everything seems to be established and working, I observe.

I used the NVMe_DID drivers, browsing to and then installing rcBootom, RCRaid, and RCfg in that order. It made no difference - after installing all three drivers and doing a refresh, the Windows installer still sees two separate NVM drives and can't install.

However, from reading AMD NVMe/SATA RAID Quick Start Guide for Windows Operating Systems I've seen that this can happen when the system has multiple controllers, so no problem - I choose the first one.

Yes, drivers will be provided and added to that page when they become available. For now you can use the previous drivers for Windows 11. I am using them on my Windows 11 installation with 2 drives in Raid 1 configuration.

Can someone please help me with a start to finish, step by step procedure to create a custom driver and installing a device with that custom driver? Example, I have a couple of LifX bulbs and they're listed as customer drivers.

First you need to find the custom DH code you want to install.
Copy the DH code to your clipboard.
In the HE hub select Drivers Code from the menus.
At the top you will see New Driver.
Click on it, copy in your code and save.
When you discover your new device it will allocate it a driver. It may be the one you just defined, if not, select your device from the devices menu.
Now click on the Type field.
From here you select the correct DH and save.

I'm still not clear on how to get LifX bulbs to work. I copied the code provided here Lifx Group of Groups Driver (ST port), and it's in my custom devices. I also have a token from LifX. Now here I sit. How do I add the token and the devices?

Also, I'd like to add very simple Nest integration, so that I can change setpoints with modes. This thread seems to indicate it can be done. Nest integration. However, again, I can't discern how to get this off the ground. I see the code, but not how to start the install process.

OK, so you added a custom "Driver" which is just code that will be used by a device. When you pair a Zigbee or Z-Wave device, they will usually automatically create a device and assign a driver to it.

In the case of LIFX, I believe you will be accomplishing a Hubitat-to-Cloud integration. In that case, in your Hubitat's list of 'Devices', you will see a button near the top that says "Add Virtual Device". Click that, and then assign a unique name, network ID, etc... AND assign the correct Custom Driver. Once you do that, and click SAVE, you will see all of the options to configure the device.

##LIFX Group of Groups (LGoG) provides the following capabilities through a device handler and an optional companion application (LIFX Sync): Control a Group of LIFX Bulbs as a Single Device (Note: LGoG does not sync your bulbs, it communicates...

I was able to create a virtual device and get a number of options in the device setting. My one bulb is called Front Porch Light in the LifX app. I created a token. As far as I can tell in the settings, I've got the same name and the token. However, I can't seem to control the light. It's currently on, but if I send an off command, the status changes to off, but the light never goes off. After 10-20 seconds the status changes back to on.

I have uninstalled previous successful installatin of drivers and rebooted. Reason I had to reinstall everything was because I was running a double nat setup and for some reason I could not get my hardwired device with the router to communicate with the printer.

Update - called back in. One hour wait but it was worth it. Got another tech named Cory who had me up and running in about 15 minutes. Two things additional things he tried. One - drop the all in one installer (in my case "MF731CMFDriverV5401W64usEN") into the root of your C drive (aka "C:\") and install from there with admin privileges through Windows explorer (right click/run as admin). Two - I think more importantly what did it. There is a program in the "misc" folder (whether you are in the x32 or x64 folder). The file is called, " UNINSTAL.exe" Yes it has one "L." Run that as admin. It should wipe out any traces of old files and registry entries from previous installs. Final thing to download as a bonus if you are using the scanner. Program is called, "[Windows 32bit & 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.9.0.0." You can download it from the software tab.

After one or more unsuccessful printer or driver install attempts, it possible for windows to retain incorrect settings, such as TCP/IP port or WSD information making these resources unavailable to the driver when it tries to install.

Last step, software doesn't always remove every piece of a device's installed configuration. You can go a step further and delete the port or WSD information from Device and Printers > Propertes > Ports tab as well.

This is a great tool - MS Install / Uninstaller Utility Completely safe, from microsoft and specific for windows. Is similar to the old Revo uninstal utility, but differs in that it corrects installation problems in addition to removing orphaned registry entries.

Thank you for the tips. I just spent 75 minutes on the phone with Canon support and the rep had no idea how to fix the problem. Wen't to print managment and removed any instances of Canon. Disabled firewall and antivirus. Tried installing with admin privileges (even though I already had them. Tried installing just the scanner driver. Same error every time with that all in one installer. Nothing helped.

No question all of my computers can see the printer on the network. I can put in the IP address and the setup program finds the printer. I don't think lack of a static IP is the issue. The second router (the onhub) is wired behind the Netgear Nighthawk 7000 on a different subnet.

The problem is that every time I try the install with the "all in one" program, I immediately get the above message (could not install print driver). After getting off with Canon support, I tried downloading just the print driver ("[Windows 64bit] Generic Plus UFR II Printer Driver V2.10") and it installs. I was able to print a test page.
