MyOpera browser can't download it, nor IE 11 nor Chrome. My daughters laptop decided to disown F-Secure subscription (still valid until November 2016) and her laptop cannot download uninstall tool using eoither Opera or Chrome. Is it because I have just bought a 2-year subscription that this software has decided not to work on both devices - what kind of protection is that. Is there any other way of unistalling this?

Windows Control Panel left bits behind so that on restart, the icon was in lower rh corner but nothing left in the control panel to uninstall. It is because the support team told me to use the uniinstall tool (case ref XXXXXXXXXX ref:_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:ref) that I was trying to use it in the first place. I eventuall used CCleaner to final remove it. When I came to reinstall, the f-secure installer said that I didn't have any licences left, although the WWW my safe said I had 2 licences left, it then installed my daughter's licence on my desktop, disabling my daughters copy of f-secure. I have now uninstalled f-secure from my daughter's laptop and hey presto, I have 3 spare licences. Haven't tried to reinstall on my daughter's pc and have put another virus guard on there while I try and sort out what is going on. Spoke to virginmedia, who originally promoted the software, and they say they are getting fed up with the high volume of complaints about this dodgy software. All I know is that if I pay for something, I expect the suppliers to honour their contract and allow me to use my five licences, that I have paid for (my safe tells me that my ubscription is valid until November 2016).

In some installations the Microsoft Control panel can fail, this is the reason to use our Uninstallation tool. This uninstallation problems can have different root causes, but our Uninstallation tool basically deletes all folders, services and registry entries on the computer, leaving the system clean of our software.

Did you receive any error when using the uninstallation tool? CCLeaner registry clean up looks for unassociated registry entries, which in this case could have been caused by a failure on Windows Uninstallation process from Control Panel. We cannot confirm this without more detailed information.

Regarding the My Safe licenses problem, we need to check at our end and see why this error could have ocurred. We have a case open regarding this issue that I have taken over. I will contact you thru this case and give you instructions to gather the application logs to analyze them and find out what happened. We will also ask you for some information regarding licensing for us to check in our system what happened with the licenses use.

When I enter my credentials, it just kicks me back to this screen with a message "Incorrect login. Please try again." I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but no improvement. Support just says "we are working diligently on the issue but have no timeframe for a fix"

Here is what to do.... Sign into your Spectrum account.. Add a New Person.. Click on Invite... Go to your email address and click on Create User in the email. Give the New User Administrator status. Sign out and Sign in under the New User account.... Uninstall Security Suite from your computer.. Download and install again.

I had the same issue yesterday. I downloaded the F-Secure removal tool at -secure.com/us-en/support/tools. After running it the installer still gave me the password prompt, but then I went to Spectrum's security suite site and deactivated the license for that computer. Then I re-ran the removal tool, activated a new license, and it installed with no issues. No password prompt box at all.

I cannot login to security suite to run a full scan i do have the icon on my tool bar, but it won't open to run a scan unless I put in a login user n password, I have tried my information, but it won't work. can anyone tell me what to do in this case

Same here. Just spoke to spectrum support did the uninstall/install dance. No go....they really don't seem to know. I also think a customer wide release explaining there is an issue should have been done. To leave customers unprotected is just wrong.

Also tried both solutions (uninstalling with uninstaller and reinstalling AND creating a new user) and neither worked. Creating a new user didn't help. Still getting the log in screen. It's a known issue with Spectrum. They are hoping to have it resolved in 72 hours, but this has been ongoing since last week for me. No email will be sent when you request to change the password, so the password can't be changed. Also, no log in or password was actually added; the security suite used to just open. Spectrum needs to fix it.

I chatted with Spectrum on Jan 11 about this issue. At that time I was told they know about the issue and are working on it. I chatted with them again a few days ago and was told they are still working on it. It is now January 27 and still not working. By the way, I am able to sign into my Spectrum account OK...just can't sign in again when asked to sign in again while trying to reinstall Security Suite. Come on Spectrum....get this issue fixed!!

has anyone found out why security suite isn't working??? I've been trying to login to it for weeks now and cant reset the password or anything but i am able to login to spectrum.net.. very frustrating.

As a Charter/Spectrum customer I have also been experiencing problems with Charter Security Suite, provided by F-Secure. The first problem I encountered on Jan 17, 2024. Security Suite showed a message stating subscription had expired. I contacted Charter tech support and was advised to uninstall using uninstall tool and reinstall. After uninstalling and rebooting, I reinstalled. A login message box appeared but did not recognize my charter password. I changed my password and attempted again. Same result. Did not recognize my password. I contacted Charter again and was informed they were working on the problem.

After no additional response from Charter, I contacted tech support again TWO WEEKS LATER. I was told they had not resolved my problem but would continue to look in to it. They would call me today and update. Almost 5 pm, still awaiting phone call.

I searched this problem and realized many people are having this problem, since the first week of January. I attempted some recommended solutions on the Charter thread from others posting this problem. Installing, re-installing, re-booting, no change. I deleted the computer listed on my license for Security Suite. Attempted to re-name computer and download Security Suite for a different name computer. The first page after clicking Download Security Suite allows me to type in a name for a computer, but will NOT allow me to select an operating system. The choice grays out and I cannot type in Windows. I never get to the actual download page.

I have had security suite on my charter account for over 20 years and I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. This is absolutely ridiculous to think my security software has some sort of BUG! This is a software problem and should have been resolved a month ago.

What is the solution????!!! I have been limiting time on my computer and turning it off. This is NOT a solution. If F-Secure cannot solve this problem, Charter needs to get a different security provider. I have been very impressed with F-Secure over the years, what is going on?

I just downloaded the F-Secure uninstallation tool from the F-Secure website (just search for it) Simply downloaded the security suite from spectrum afterwards and it worked this time. Didn't even have to restart or clear the cache. Hope this helps....

1. "-a --noreboot"

New command line switch is implemented "-a --noreboot" (without

quotes) IMPORTANT note: all files being processed by UT with

"--noreboot" switch stay on your hard drive until you reboot

computer, use only if you know what you're doing and do it with

extreme caution. This switch is not shown in usage help. Remember:

installing any F-Secure product after using this build on

Uninstallation Tool before host reboot may lead to unpredictable

result!!!

How then I uninstall F-secure Launch Pad comes with F-Secure Antivirus 2012. I want to remove this as well as all associated compoenents throgh my script only. Is there command available so that I can execute it thrugh script?

So it looks like this Unistallationtool.exe -a --noreboot -s, yet the tool does not run in silent mode and still needs interaction from the user, surely silent mode should take effect hereunless i have the incorrect format.?

How I mentioned in the other thread th ony way to uninstall silent is: Extract downloaded EXE file and use the uninstallationtool.exe from the extracted files. I don't think that there are any possible parameters.

This article provides uninstall tools for common antivirus software to help you remove other security solutions prior to installing Bitdefender on your system. Never have more than one security solution installed on your computer at the same time. Having multiple antivirus programs running at the same time will not make your computer more secure. It may degrade performance and even prevent proper malware detection.

In my excitement to see your post, Christian, I didn't notice it was in a Pinned Topic. Could you delete this, and my above post please, as you and Omer have a clean and concise thread here, and I didn't mean to clutter it up.

It is of course most effective when run after the program's own uninstaller. reboot into windows safe mode (no locked files then) for best possible cleaning and run this tool. don't bother with the zip, just download the EXE file. choose the option to remove all known products. you need to enter a captcha code to confirm removal. restart when finished and install your shiny new Bitdefender product.

I tried the link for CA removal but it gives error and then the page displays "Knowledge Tools requires either Netscape 4.7x, Netscape 6.2x and higher, or Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher.". I am using IE 10 (Win 7 64-bit).
