-Mice:
There was a report of a mouse in the basement.One was caught. Compost
buckets may be attracting mice or eventually Rats to building. Gib will
call Beans & Barley for their pickle buckets with lids.We are
hoping to find someone to build a wood box with lid to put compost
buckets in. Gib will make a point to reinforce cleaning under the bulk
bins. Mary will look into the cost of natural pest control.
-Internet: Internet was down. Thank you Doug and Gib for fixing it. New internet password is:

Open enrollment is Oct 1st, If anyone wants to cancel or sign up for
Aflac insurance, please let Shelly know so a meeting a Alfac meeting
can be set up in September. MJ will make a sign for staff.
-Special
Orders in store: They are messing up profit and loss sheets. It is
giving a negative or positive member discount. Mary and Shelly will
talk to Copos.
-Working Special Events: Questions was brought up
if it is okay for employees to record hours if they are drinking. Co-op
Cafe Alcohol Policy states:
• Any personnel (volunteers included) under the influence of drugs or alcohol
while working a shift with the Co-op will be written up and asked to leave the
premises. At Co-op’s discretion you may relieved of your duties at the Co-op.
W.C. agreed to write up person who violated policy.
-Labor Day: 9-7-09 Cafe closed.

-Communication
with HR: Nick would like better communication with HR. Would like to
know start dates, perspective hires, any problems or complications.
-Volunteer of Week: ALEX in cafe
-Cafe
Staffing: Cafe managers and employees feel we should have two staff in
cafe at all times. There is too much to do for one person and
volunteers are hit or miss. This will insure the cafe is well stocked,
customers will be happier, employees will be happier. Payroll should
stay within 40% of sales. Finance committee should alert cafe when
payroll is higher then it should be.
-Accountability: Gib
suggest that we are not holding each other accountable as much as we
should be. WC has come a long way but we need to do better. People need
to speak up more. Some suggestions:
*HR read over WC notes and make sure there is a follow through with tasks.
*Issues
should be brought up one on one with people before its is discussed at
WC meeting. This will allow for people to process the issue and not
feel like they are being attacked.
*We need to bond more.
*Bring back dry erase board for task and accountability
*Need to brain storm some of the bigger picture issues, goals.
