Good people of the community. YOU are the co-op! Help the co-op serve us all better.
In addition to volunteering in the store and cafe, there are multitudes of ways you can put your talents to use.
Committees are comprised of volunteers, board members, and workers. The membership committee for instance needs its ranks bolstered. (Other committees include: finance, human resources, communications / public relations, building / maintenance...)
The Co-Op is a wonderful place and has met with lovely success over the years. We continue to grow. With that growth however, we need some fresh energy and commitment from our membership to sustain this gem that we have and to keep it vibrant and thriving. Remember that we are unique in many ways and that there is no place on earth like the Riverwest Co-op Grocery & Cafe. It is more than simply a grocery store or a cafe. It is a very special place and we almost completely function with hard working volunteers.
Operation of the co-op and its many facets takes a lot of work and dedication that is not always visible.
We are looking for service minded folks that want to get involved with their community, serve the greater good for our people and our world, and have some goodness to add to your resume at the same time.
The Riverwest Co-Op Board of Directors is currently short one person. Our monthly board meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. Meetings are open and we would love interested people to participate. You are more than welcome.
Just start by coming to meetings and showing your interest. Besides filling the current opening, we are looking to groom some energetic people for further board slots opening in the near future.
It feels good to be part of the co-op family, and it is fun.
Our volunteers, workers, and volunteer board members are very important people.
We also have special projects. If you would like to assist in making the building more energy efficient, or have any additional ideas for the co-op, we would love to hear from you.
