to Riverside Ride Group
Hi All
I am not available to lead the Friday Night Gravel Ride tomorrow..
I hope to be able to lead next week.

But remember:
We will meet at NBPT shop Wednesday November 19th where we will grab a beer, learn about trainers, Zwift, Discord and have David catch us up with how to ride with the group!

As the winter approaches and riding outdoors becomes more of a challenge (hours of daylight, weather, road conditions, etc.), I wanted to make sure that everyone knows everything there is to know about Riverside's off-season virtual training rides. Two of these free rides are already happening every week and one or two more rides are likely to be added to the weekly schedule.

These are group rides that take place in an online virtual world (Zwift) and you can join them without leaving your home. They are organized by various members of the Riverside Cycles community and I've gotten a lot of questions on how to participate in them. So, to answer those questions and give you more tips on indoor training overall, we're going to offer a free in-person class at the Newburyport location of Riverside Cycles on Wednesday, Nov 19, at 6pm. To make it festive, there will be some food and beverages there as well!

The class will include a live demonstration and here's just some of what you'll learn:
  • What is a virtual ride?
  • What do I need in the way of special gear, computers, smartphones or software in order to participate in a virtual ride?
  • How do I mount my existing bike onto an indoor trainer?
  • What is Zwift (the virtual world we use for the group rides)?
    • How to get up and running on the Zwift platform?
    • How to join a Riverside Cycles Virtual Training Event
    • How to invite my friend to join one of the virtual rides
    • Tips and Tricks for using Zwift on your own as well as on our virtual rides
  • How to participate in the "party line" voice call where riders can talk to each other during the virtual rides
Please let me know if you have any questions and we hope to see you there!

Thanks David and Tom
