Greetings Riders!
It looks like Mother Nature may throw some decent weather our way, so let's plan on holding our 6th ride of the season tomorrow, May 11th. Right now, the weather is forecast is for high 50's and some sun (but no wind). If the weather takes a turn for the worse, I will cancel the ride between 3-4pm in the afternoon.
Thank you all for being more mindful of the Riverside Rules of the Road, which are, again, below:
- The 20-mile route MAX speed is 18mph
- The 18-mile route MAX speed is 16mph
- Give different riders the chance to pull if they move to the front; DO NOT pull if you do not know the route
- When riding on a road with a bike lane, stay INSIDE the bike lane
- When riding on backroads, ride NO MORE than two abreast, and hug the inside shoulder
- Announce if you are passing a rider, and pass ONLY on the left
- On narrow roads with sharp corners, stay SINGLE FILE on the corners (Plummers Lane)
- If you hear "CAR BACK!" hug the right shoulder and stay single file until the car passes
- Helmets and REAR LIGHTS are mandatory for ALL riders!
- Front lights are advisable for the ride home
The work on the I-95 Overpass is complete, so we are back to offering two routes to accommodate the preferences of the group. Feel free to do whichever route "floats your bike." Please note that Dave Berlind will be riding as "Sweep" for the shorter ride, making sure there is "no rider left behind."
Below is the map for each of the routes. PLEASE review prior to the ride.
