Riverside Saturday Morning Rides (SaMR) are back!
Weather permitting, SaMRs will kick off from Riverside Newburyport at 9 AM this Saturday May 9. Initially we will ease into rides with a 38 mile loop (former WNR route), gradually cranking it up to 50 miles by the end of May. All rides in May are NO DROP , with a target average pace of 19 +/- mph.
Beginning in June, SaMRs will settle into 50-mile routes as in the past which will vary from week to week. I plan to offer a longer route at least once each month, probably the 3rd Saturday of the month. For longer routes think along the lines of Riverside MBTS Coffee Run, Great Bay Loop, Nubble Light - York, Maine, Mt. Agamenticus - York, ME, Tamworth Gravel - Tamworth, NH & Kangamangus Hwy and Bear Notch. Some fun stuff to keep it interesting.
If you would like to join but are not familiar with cycling in a group, please reach out to me (bikebi...@gmail.com) and I will be happy to discuss the finer points to help orchestrate safe and enjoyable rides. You should be comfortable with maintaining an average pace of 19 mph for a minimum of 40 miles when joining these rides.
We are seasoned cyclists, therefore I fully expect everyone to respect the group dynamic while maintaining the advertised pace, synergistically working together in a safe peloton formation.
Route details and reminders will be emailed on the Friday before each ride. Keep an eye on your inbox!
Hope you can join!
