Welcome to the group, Aja. I hope you have a lot of
fun performing with us. I know it's been very
enjoyable for me so far.

Okay... here are some lines to try. The first one is the queen of otter
island. She's a small, timid soul who switches into authoritative mode once
she gets going.
"All right... don't panic... let's think this through. A force that large
isn't going to be able to leave the canyon without being seen. Mulcrum,
gather a team of kalans from the lagoon village and the kushtaka camp. Have
them make dives every few minutes and report anything they find."
This next one is Sadie, the girl my character has a crush on.
"Why? I'll tell you why. Because you never DID anything. You never
invited me for a swim, you never brought me a flower, you never even shared
a fish with me. How was I supposed to interperet your interest? ...And now
Tak brings these pictures to me... Do you know how I feel, Oren? Confused.
Terribly, dreadfully confused."

Also, what episode are we at atm? I remember episode 7 was the last I heard,
and recorded 8, but it's been quiet since (although Sabrina Online Radio

Welcome aboard, Aja, and welcome you are indeed. It is both a pleasure and an honor to make your acquaintance, and I look forward (and perhaps fur-ward) to working with you in this otterly impressive artistic endeavour.
(sweeping bow) I, of course, am Wanderer Wolf, dreaming denizen and declaimer of delightful descriptions (with appropriate alliteration, also).
Ah. Yes, Oren really does want you to essay all three of those voice types; that way, he can judge for which sort of dialogue your voice is best suited. I, for instance, generally play old characters (such as Pan, the elderly otter explorer) and females (such as Fnaire), though I have been graced with the parts of Zac and King Brahm in our upcoming episode. (I wanted the villain, of course, but I don’t sound monstrous enough. C’est la vie…)
(Listens to the sample.)
Oooof, I’m with Oren on this.:> You really captured the sound and timbre of a little kid whining to Mama. Excellent work!
Eala, sorry to hear about the need for housemoving; I know how hard it is, trust me. I’d offer to help, but being miles away, y’know…
In any event: Once again, welcome, Aja. It’s a pleasure to have you… and not just because it means I’ll play fewer female roles, either.;)
Yours in dialogue,
The wordy, windy,
Wanderer

I'd like to try something ambitious. I'd like to put together an Otter
Island choir to sing Silent Night in Islandish. I'll be posting my own part
in the usual place for the scripts, which you can use for timing and
pronunciation. (It is important to get the timing right!) I shall post the
link as soon as it is done.
Here are the words to the song.
Heha yuwaw
Neyem Yuwaw
Tul Heha
Tul shimaw
Pi ih krehi muchp ka peli
Neyem myeh yeetek ur Mungu
~heh an Hiveng chul

Who's up for giving this a try?

According to the Northern Language Survey of 2006, covering North England:
87.5% of those surveyed speak languages in addition to, or instead of,
English.
Of these:
30.4% consider themselves monolinguists
36.5% consider themselves bilingual
17.0% trilingual
16.1% multilingual
74.3% of the more/other than English respondents list English as their
mother tongue; 64 other languages were listed by the remainder as their
mother tongue.

I’m up for it, but it is sad that OI won’t get finished out. Even if there isn’t all the original cast, shouldn’t we try and finish it, at least on principal?
WEKM
There’s a whole new Monster out there
I’m open to the idea, but I’m not sure OI is completely dead. From the list, I see:
You
Me
Eala
Benny
Mattrat
Max
Ann
Krupp
That’s most of the cast right there, and we still might be able to get Phelps back to handle Picado. Since Pan is dead after Ep 9 anyway, I’ll be available to take other parts, as well. (Although noble flashbacks are always an option.;)) I’ll check in with Kaninus to make sure he made the transition to the new list.
Also, keep in mind that you were about to send the series on a “Road Trip” anyway, as we tried to rescue you from your human life. New and different characters, revolving around a core cast, would be the inevitable result.
In short: If it’s over, it’s over, but I think there might still be some life in it.
Yours truly,
The wolfish,

Well, Otter Island is pretty much dead. While we've been sitting here waiting for the last episode to get done, the group has changed so much that we don't have enough of the original actors to do the characters.
I thought I posted my original email to the Pandora list.
You know, we should really do another radioplay sometime soon...
Man, that could be fun...if I were to do it, though, it probably wouldn't be Otter Island because they'd be my stories, not Oren's. Something tells me maybe I'd better wait on that, though, until I'm sure I wouldn't be too busy, too.
