Here is the schedule of events for our pruning day and workshop event this coming weekend:
These events will go on despite threats of rain, hail, sleet, snow, hurricane, tornado, earthquakes, and/or volcanic eruptions.
Friday March 28: Pruning and Planting
Where: Church of the Intercession (155th and Broadway), Trinity Church Cemetery and Mausoleum, Audubon Terrace (155th and Broadway), Riverside Terrace (155th and Riverside)
Start time: 9 am
End: 4 pm
Meeting spot: Church of the Intercession Garth Garden, entrance on 155th Street
Come for the whole day, or prune and run....
Bring your own pruners and gloves if you have them, if not, we can share. I have a few extra pruning shears and some gloves.
Free roses for all who volunteer.
Saturday March 29: Propagation workshop for young gardeners
Where: Church of the Intercession (155th and Broadway), in the Garth Garden
Start time: 9 am
End: 1 pm
Pizza included
Students and faculty from Florida Southern College will run workshops on propagating roses from cuttings. There will also be "hands on" planting and pruning in the Garth Garden and in Audubon Terrace.
This workshop is FULL, but there may be some openings at the last minute.
