to Riverside Oval Association
A 5-year proposal to renovate the perimeter of the Riverside Oval is
finally coming to fruition. The City Parks Dept., thanks to funding
($200K) from Councilman Robert Jackson, State Assemblyman and neighbor
Denny Farrell, and our own Parks Dept. Steve Simon, will replace the
fence encircling the Oval with a new curb and wrought iron railing.
The construction may start as soon as early October. That means our
plans for “It’s Our Park Day” may be modified to accommodate this
construction, since we can’t plant anything new within 5 feet of the
curb.
