Hi Neighbors,

The County Board of Education is considering moving our neighborhood, polygon 127, as part of the redistricting for next year.

They are apparently considering having our children go to Clemens Crossing ES (still), Wilde Lake MS, and back to Atholton.

There is a good discussion of the board's meeting taking place on Facebook, on the Rivers Edge Neighborhood Families group.

The board has requested feedback--and it sounds like they have been getting more feedback from the Clarksville area than from the Rivers Edge area.

So here is contact information, if you want to make your opinions known. They want to hear from us by tomorrow, because I believe they want a final plan next Tuesday (to be voted on Thursday).

It looks like they post all written testimony, including email submissions, here:

Can you direct us to the proposal under consideration that you are referencing? Thanks

It was not in any of the board plans, it was raised haphazardly yesterday to move us to Wild Lake MS. Once stated, several board members jumped on board with the idea and the HCPSS staff did on the spot Polygon utilization analysis for moving us to WLMS that the board then considered and seemed very favorable to. The board also stated that they have not heard from us so it seemed like we were easy to shift around.  I have a draft email that you could consider sending along.  I am happy to share. Email me if you are interested (elise....@gmail.com).

Hi Larry (et al)

Apparently there is nothing in writing. The people who watched the video of the planning group meeting were writing down what they heard as they watched, and they reported it in the neighborhood facebook group.

When the video is available, it will be here: https://www.hcpss.org/board/meetings/ under November 9 meeting,
Sue

When emailing or talking to the board, the key is to speak from a stance that this decision of WLMS hasn't given us time to explore & speak our thoughts. We cannot speak from an individual standpoint (need to speak as a community) or an emotional one (need to be factual).
