I just posted this on Facebook but thought I would repost here in case some members of the list serve are not on our Facebook group page.

I just got off the phone with Shane Pendergrass who says that she and her team are aware of our concerns and are fighting on our behalf. She says that she and the rest of the district 13 team are currently in session in Annapolis so they will not be able to make the meeting on the 23rd but that one of them will try to make the meeting on February 13.

She also said that this is the governor’s doing and that this governor is the most powerful governor in the US. I told her that even if that is the case, all our neighbors know is that our representatives are either fighting against this on our behalf or not. 

She also said that it would be to our advantage if we could get in contact with the lieutenant governor, Boyd Rutherford, since he is from Howard County and grew up she thinks in Hammond Hills right across 29. I will try doing that today unless someone knows him personally. 

She also said that if this happens, it will be a fairly permanent solution because no money has been allocated to make any more improvements at our access point to our neighborhood.

I have to be honest here, she did not sound hopeful that this thing would be reversed and I only say that because of the fact that she made it very clear that this was not her team’s doing but the governor’s. She also gave an example of how her team has been fighting the governor over tollroads that he wants and her team doesn’t and they have been unsuccessful so far. She was placing the blame on the change at our stoplight on the governor’s office and giving an example of how her team fought against the governor in the past and lost.

I also have made contact with Guy Guzzone’s office but since Ms. Pendergrass got back to me, I don’t think that he will. If he does, I will update.
