In this week's (Oct 30) the Herald - there is a 2 page "Councillor's Report to Taxpayers" from Jeff Browaty.
It includes the following: "
While I personally believe the mini traffic calming circles installed in 2010 along biking routes are relatively useless (I stopped them from being built in the North Kildonan ward), full sized round-abouts, in certain circumstances greatly improve traffic flow."
I LOVE the mini traffic calming circles along my cycle commute to work along Roch.
I would like to express my disagreement and disappointment with his comments - but I do not live within the City of Winnipeg (I am 1 street north of the city limit and live in the RM of East St. Paul - where I have to address a Council who does not even see value in building a trail within their jurisdiction to connect the City of Winnipeg with Birds Hill Prov Park and the Duff Roblin Parkway) so my comments would not carry much weight.
If anyone reading this agrees - and lives within the City of Winnipeg - I would encourage you to contact this Councillor.
I had thought he was someone who was supportive of active transportation.
