Attendees: Danny Thirakul , President, Norma Alcala, Vice President, Kimberly Ramos, Treasurer, Lana Paulhamus, Secretary. Members Don Stauffer, Carlos Alcala, Maria Grijalva,
Glennda Campos .
Secretary Election: It was Moved by Norma Alcala and Seconded by Maria Grijalva to elect Lana Palhamus club Secretary. With no objection Lana was elected Secretary.
Guest candidates running for Washington Unified School Board: Preston Jackson, Laura Legacki, Sarah Kirby Gonzalez,
Mayor Candidate: Joe DeAnda
Yolo County School Board: Maria Grijalva
Meeting called to order by Danny Thirakul at 6:30 p.m.
He made the following announcements:
September 3 - from 4-9 p.m. Labor Day Picnic at Fairly Tale town, William Land Park
September 16- Yolo Co. Democratic Party’s Bean Feed, Davis Senior Center 4:30-8 p.m.
Danny also requested that we approve $48 to pay for website address.
Glennda made a motion to suspend rules and to vote on the budget Don made the second, the motion passed unanimously. The $48 was approved by unanimous consent.
Treasurers Report: Kimberly reported that the California 460 form was filed on 7/31/18. Our club is now active and approved by the State of California. We currently have $2,026.90 in our account. We are still collecting membership dues.
ALL CANDIDATES PRESENT: were granted 20 minutes to discuss their qualifications and reasons for running for office.
Carlos made a motion to endorse Joe DeAnda for Mayor of West Sacramento Don made the second. Motion passes unanimously.
Carlos made a motion to endorse Maria Grijalva for Yolo Co. Board of Education. Danny made the second, motion passes unanimously.
Parveen Tumbar won our endorsement for WUSD member on July 23, 2018.
Carlos brought up the issue of deceitful endorsements which appear to be made in behalf of our club and wasn’t that our club needs to be mindful of such deceit.
Next meeting will be held on September 24, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at this location.

River City Democrats Minutes
June 25, 2018
Meeting called to order at 6:31 pm by President Danny Thirakul.
Members present: Lana Paulhamus, Charlotte Dorsey, Paul Puech, Susan Martimo, Glennda Campos, Don Stauffer, Kimberly Ramos, Carlos Alcala Sr., Norma Alcala and Carlos Alcala Jr.
Approval of Minutes for April 2018 meeting approved. Motion by Susan and second by Lana.
The River City Democratic Club’s Secretary and Treasurer’s position are unfilled but Kimberly Ramos agreed to assume the role of Treasurer. Don Stauffer motioned to suspend the By laws’ requirement that a RCDC offer be a member for a year in order to allow Kimberly to be elected Treasurer. Carlos seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved. Kimberly was unanimously voted in as Treasurer. Norma motioned for Maria to become the club Secretary and Don Stauffer seconded the motion. Maria was not present but Norma volunteered to ask Maria to fill in temporarily.

Announcements:
Paul Puech became a new member and introduced himself. He has been a NOW supporter for 55 yrs and is a television producer who works with 60 access stations in California.
Susan Martimo recommended that we may consider helping with congressional districts outside our own, especially the 14 targeted by the CDP.
