I apologize in advance for the low volume on this recording.

It was recording through my bluetooth headphones that were on my desk, so my voice is pretty faint.

But the ideas are good, imho -- so turn up the volume. ;-)

I enjoyed listening to this. A simpler installation for River4 would be helpful, though I'm proud that I was able to get the Duke River up with the help of this community.

I want to encourage my colleagues and friends, most of them to put up their own rivers. My first step is for me to tell them about the Duke River, so I've posted an item to http://zuiker.com/river. I hope to gather a few colleagues soon to find ways to make this one Duke River better, and to make additional rivers.

Dave,

Thanks for doing the River4 status podcast, it's good to know your vision for moving forward. I agree that installation of River4 should be made as simple as possible, and that the filesystem option with installation on a desktop/laptop computer should be the default installation.

Here are some thoughts for describing River4 options for users:

Default install – use it on your PC/Mac/Linux box, read your feeds locally

- Installing Node.js and River4

- Adding feed lists

- Creating/modifying feed lists

Publish feeds on the Web

- Run River4 locally, write static index file and river files to Dropbox, serve files from Dropbox

- Run River4 locally, copy static index file and river files to shared hosting or S3, run script or app to copy river files when they are updated

- Run River4 on a server, copy static index file and river files to shared hosting or S3, run script or app to copy river files when they are updated

- Run River4 on a hosting service (Heroku et al), use S3 to host files

I would like to help with the documentation of River4, my thought is to use the wiki capability of the Github repo to capture the information. Looking forward to new things for River4!
