1st Meeting

discussion about what the mission of the church is and what it ought
to be. We also spoke about what we hope the River of Life Church will
look like.
What we really have noticed is that many churches that are in America
today are very inward focussed. They 'do' church very well, but
meanwhile the outside world is dying and going to hell. We believe
that the purpose of the church is to accomplish the great commission
found in Matthew 28:18-20- The great command is to make disciples by
going, baptizing, and teaching. We go in the authority and in the
power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We want the River of Life Alliance
Church to be a place where we win people to Christ, build them up in
Christ, equip them in their faith so that we can multiply-by starting
the process over again.
We are excited about this great start, and look forward to the
continued growth as we study God's Word and plan for the launch of
River of Life Alliance Church in Marshall. Please pray for the
following requests:
- That I (John) would be able to continue to make contacts around
town.
- For Grace's move to Marshall, and being able to make friends and be
welcome here. (we are really praising the Lord that she chose to
come to Marshall)
- That we would be able to raise the needed funds to meet our church
planting budget. We are at about 50% of our first year goal.
- That we (my kids and I) would be strong and grow together as Wendy
will be in Florida until late May.
- That as we begin to meet in small groups that many people in
Marshall would be reached with the Good News.
