Hello everyone!
Welcome to the 2015-16 school year with RIT Student Music Association (RITSMA). Hopefully you have all had a successful few days so far.
The goal of RITSMA is to serve as a casual forum for students who are interested in the many forms of student music on campus. Whether you are a singer, musician, or just a music lover, we aim to connect with other like-minded individuals and share in our love for music. Specifically, this transpires through:
-Weekly meetings, where we discuss club business and upcoming events. Afterwards, we leave time to hang out and jam casually.
-Electric and acoustic jam sessions, where any and all instruments and skill levels are encouraged to attend.
-Sound production for various groups around campus, especially acapella shows.
-Open mics, which are either RITSMA exclusive or co-run with the College Activities Board.
-Coordination and production of several concerts throughout the year, including a Battle of the Bands (usually in Feb-March) and Brickstock (occurs the Saturday of Imagine RIT in May).
This semester, weekly meetings will be held at 9PM on Wednesdays in the Campus Center in Room 1010/1015 (right by the info desk) unless otherwise specified. We will have more information on the dates for acoustic/electric jam sessions at a later date.
As always, instruments are welcomed at the meeting. Hope to see everyone tomorrow at 9PM!
