Hey RITE!

Great weather, here is some cool news:

1. Thank you for the director applications, we are very happy to have Jessica Hwang on board who will co-direct RITE with me next semester. Congratulations!
2. Please, if you have a female tutee, please forward them the Athena conference email below! ;) This will mean so much to them (your student)
3. The end of the semester is fast approaching, just to give you a head up  - we only have 2/3 (depending on when tutoring ends, either Sat april 24th or May 1,will get back to you about this asap!) more tutoring sessions! I think the last one will be maybe one hour tutoring the other hour a min "party" with some nice snacks for the students and if the weather is nice we can sit outside, or there might be an outing somewhere in Harvard Square, either way, it will be awesome ;)

Thank you!

Danai

Hi Danai,

I hope you are having a great day in spite of this awful weather. My name is Suzanna Bobadilla and I'm a first year who is involved with the Athena Program at PBHA. We are currently in mad outreach mode for our Athena Conference coming up on April 17th here at Harvard and would really appreciate it you could encourage your mentees from RITE to come to our event. Athena has been spending a lot of time and energy on this conference and we would really appreciate the PBHA solidarity.

The Athena Conference is a free, day-long conference for high school women. It will be held on April 17 from 10 am to 6 pm. We focus on gender empowerment and youth activism; our theme for this conference is “Power of You(th).” As such, the workshops, a music performance, and keynote speaker will center around combining women’s issues, community activism, and social justice. Registration is extremely easy and short at this link: http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/athena/registration.php. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. I’ve attached our spring flyer as well, and our board members can do site visits at a time and place convenient for you.

Thanks again and please let me know if you have any questions. I can be contacted at 240-506-0009.

Best,

Suzanna
