Is anyone skilled enough in music production to make an intro tune for
when we start putting out Ask a Skeptic?

Also, recently on Skeptoid podcast, Bryan Dunning said that he loves to
go around and give talks to campus skeptical groups. If we asked, it's
pretty likely we could get him to come talk on campus.

I used to play around with a bunch of audio software. If I ever get
some of it installed again, I'll try to make something simple. Don't
rely on me though, I'm sure someone who knows more what they're doing
could do better.. :-P

Cool!

There are several website where you can get music under a Creative
Commons or similar license. Maybe we should use one of these:

http://www.jamendo.com/en/
http://www.podsafeaudio.com/
http://ccmixter.org/

The big question is what type of intro do you want? Soft piano,
electronica, rock, or what? Also, bringing Bryan Dunning in for a
special edition of Ask a skeptic would be pretty cool.

Yeah what style?

I could possibly get Greydon Square or Mr. G.A.W.N. or one of several
other atheist music artists to make us a short little theme song even.

I think Greydon Square would be great, if he would do it.
If we ended up having to use something from podsafe, I would vote for electronica.

If we could get Brian Dunning, I guess it would be "Ask a Skeptiod"?

I uploaded a file to the google group of a candidate intro.

Definitely not bad. If we don't get anything from the artists, I say we
could use that.

I'll try contacting Greydon soon. I'm talking to Mr. G.A.W.N. right
now. Do we have a particular phrase we'd like whoever does this to say/
include? Something of the form "this is __ and you're listening to the
rit skeptics" or "this is __ and i support the rit skeptics mission to
answer questions logically and rationally.." ? I could potentially
get several artists to do this/"endorse" us, which would be kinda cool
and make us seem bigger and more important than we are.. LOL.

Let me know and I'll pass it on to gawn/greydon and whoever else I can
find that seems willing.

Why not let them do what they want? Less artistic interference.

Chatting with Mr GAWN again at this very moment.. says he made a
little something for us 2 weeks ago but isn't satisfied with the way
it came out. He says he's still working on it and didn't forget about
us :-D

Very cool... If he doesn't have it done by the time we're done editing this episode, we can certainly use it for future episodes, or reedit.
