A few months ago, we had a long talk with Angelo Trofa, a very talented designer with the passion for football and, in particular, kits and uniforms. Among the many things we discussed, there was his collaboration with EA Sports for the realization of the FIFA 17 Legends team's kits. And as in these very days, the software house presented the new chapter of the most famous football video game in the world, we asked ourselves if Angelo would've been called for another work in the kit design. And of course, he has.
Many thanks. It's really cool, I played the game a lot when I was younger so it's great to see my work on it. Back in the 90s, you were able to customize the kits, so I would spend many hours doing this, so working on this project really took me back to being 10 years old again.
I worked on the Legends kit last year, which is what the Icons team has now replaced. With that design we kept it much more classic, trying to make a kit which could work in a few eras of football, representing the fact that players in the team were from the 1950s to the modern day.
For this Icons kit, the 90s was definitely a big reference point, that style of collar was very popular at the time. Almost every team had it, the Juve's Kappa, Real Madrid's Kelme, and Nike '96 templates all had a collar in that style, It's since disappeared. I don't know if it's my age, but I look at that period as a golden age of kit design, so wanted to capture that feeling with these kits. Luckily the ultimate 90s player Ronaldo is the face of the team, so that worked out perfectly!
Hopefully, in the video game world, the possibilities are endless, so I'm sure there's lots more that can be explored. I was pleased that EA asked me to collaborate on this again, the design process is great as they are really open to ideas. The fact they are getting outside designers to work with them is fantastic.
Listen uses inotify by default on Linux to monitor directories for changes. It's not uncommon to encounter a system limit on the number of files you can monitor. For example, Ubuntu Lucid's (64bit) inotify limit is set to 8192.
When you see this notification, it indicates that the VS Code file watcher is running out of handles because the workspace is large and contains many files. The current limit can be viewed by running:
is to exclude specific workspace directories from the VS Code file watcher with the files.watcherExclude setting. The default for files.watcherExclude excludes node_modules and some folders under .git, but you can add other directories that you don't want VS Code to track.
Most answers above talk about raising the max number of watches. They don't talk about taking away the root cause. Typically, the root cause is just a matter of having watches that aren't used, they are completely redundant! This typically happens for files in node_modules. Moreover, this situation typically consumes a lot of memory unnecessarily and some older pcs may become slow because of it.
If watching does not work for you, try out this option. This may helpissues with NFS and machines in VirtualBox, WSL, Containers, orDocker. In those cases, use a polling interval and ignore largefolders like /node_modules/ to keep CPU usage minimal.
VS Code or any code editor creates lots of file watches too. By default many of them are completely redundant. Read more about it here: _visual-studio-code-is-unable-to-watch-for-file-changes-in-this-large-workspace-error-enospc
Use sudo to solve this issue will force the number of watchers to be increased without apply any modifications in system settings. Use sudo to solve this kind of issue is never recommended, although it's a choice that have to be made by you, hope you choose wisely.
Long Tail Solution:If you want to have a long-tail solution - e.g. if you are often caught by this error - you can increase the value of allowed watchers (depending on your available memory)
Using the sysctl -p approach after setting fs.inotify.max_user_watches did not work for me (by the way this setting was already set to a high value, likely from me trying to fix this issue a while back ago, using the commonly recommended workaround(s) above).
The best solution to the problem I found here, and below I share the performed steps in solving it - in my case the issue was spotted while running visual studio code, but solving the issue should be the same in other instances, like yours:
Now run sudo code --user-data-dir and it should open vscode with admin privileges this time. (by the way when it does not - run sudo code --user-data-dir --verbose to see what the problem is - that's how I figured out it had to do with file watchers limit).
Update:
You may configure VS code file watcher exclusion patterns as described here. This may prove to be the ultimate solution, I am just not sure you will always know beforehand which files you are NOT interested watching.
While almost everyone suggests to increase a number of watchers, I couldn't agree that it is a solution. In my case I wanted to disable watcher completely, because of the tests running on CI using vui-cli plugin which starts web-pack-dev server for each test.
If you are running your project in Docker, you should do the echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=524288 sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf and all other commands in the host machine, since the container will inherit that setting automatically (and doing it directly inside it will not work).
However, I think the default number is high enough and is only reached when processes are not cleaned up properly. Hence, I simply restarted my computer as proposed on a related github issue and the error message was gone.
Please refer this link[1]. Visual Studio code has mentioned a brief explanation for this error message. I also encountered the same error. Adding the below parameter in the relavant file will fix this issue.
The survivors from a doomed freighter crash-land on Turkana IV, Tasha Yar's homeworld, and are taken hostage by a dissident faction. When the Enterprise moves to intervene, they are joined by Tasha's sister Ishara who has ulterior motives.
As instructed by Riker, Data pick a card (the Jack of Hearts) and puts it back in the deck without showing him. After shuffling and manipulating the cards several times, Riker makes Data pick the same Jack again, to Troi's surprise. Data is however hardly impressed, explaining that he saw that Riker had kept the edge of his left thumb on the card and shuffled so it was on top. By keeping track of it, he was able to have Data remove or keep cards at his choosing until Data's card was the only one left. His gamble having utterly failed, Riker is left chagrined as the triumphant Data rakes in all the chips for himself. In that moment, Captain Picard calls and informs them that the USS Enterprise-D has received a distress call.
On the bridge, an audio message is received from the Arcos engineer Tan Tsu, explaining that a warp drive breach is to go critical in just five minutes. The sound of an explosion makes Tan Tsu inform the crew that it is now three minutes to core breach and thanks the Enterprise for trying to rescue them. Picard orders Ensign Bennett to increase the Enterprise's speed to warp 9.6, although the engines have already exceeded recommended limits. They arrive in transporter range just a second too late, witnessing the freighter explosion. However, Data has detected an escape pod trail, which is leading to the colony. The colony is infamous for being lawless: the USS Potemkin was the last Federation ship to contact the outpost in 2361 and was warned that any intruder entering the colony would be killed. Despite this, Picard orders Riker to assemble an away team.
Although the surface settlements have been destroyed, the colonists now live underground. The away team, including Riker, Worf, Dr. Crusher, and Data, beams down, with phasers ready and set to maximum stun. Looking for the pod, they initially meet no resistance, but suddenly an alarm rings and armed men engage the away team. While explaining their purpose, proximity detectors on the Turkana colonists starts blinking, and the Enterprise crewmen follow the colonists away while they escape. In a safe place, Riker and the others learn from Hayne that the colony is controlled by two opposing cadres, the Turkana IV Alliance, who is currently holding the Arcos men captive, and the Turkana IV Coalition. Hayne, the Coalition leader, tells Riker that he will help him find the prisoners but expects to receive weapons in exchange. He claims to need them in order to maintain peace, but the away team is not convinced. He also explains that no serious conflicts can occur, since intruders are immediately spotted thanks to the proximity detectors. Crusher and Data reply that they know how the colony is torn by conflicts and violence from a former crewman, who died in the line of duty. Riker decides to go back to the Enterprise, and Hayne gives him a bottle of Telluridan synthale as a gift for the captain.
On the ship, Picard states clearly that he won't provide weapons to anybody, especially "urban street thugs", as he puts it, although he recognizes that the Coalition is currently the only door open to rescuing the hostages. He announces that they will keep that door open to them and see where it leads. While discussing, a communication from the colony is received. Hayne introduces Ishara Yar, claiming she is Tasha's sister.
Hayne offers help to the Enterprise, apparently to avoid Picard paying a ransom to the Alliance in exchange of the prisoners. After consulting with his senior staff, Picard accepts the proposal, although realizing that such an offer should be addressed with suspicion. Ishara beams on board and is welcomed by Data. Her first reaction is to think of him as a cybernetic warrior, but Data explains that his purposes are different. He explains to Ishara that the Enterprise is not a ship of war but of exploration.
