AOL! EMAIL! SERVICE!!!

My last case was a bad faith case. The underwriter did a refusal to renew perfectly. Then did an accommodative favor and excluded the miscreant son. She asked for a signed exclusion. Pretty simple. The jury awarded plaintiff nine million dollars.

Juries have always hated insurance companies. We have done precious little public relations.

In Michigan attorneys are allowed to hawk their services. They bad mouth insurance companies as liars, cheats and frauds ten times a day. They imply that all cases are worth big money.

This is creating an atmosphere where one must fear for the future of the insurance community.

My wife and I intentionally moved to a small house, have two daily driving VWs and pay $5k a year for coverage. We are eighty years old.

Why will the insurance companies sit and take this abuse?

You are getting away cheap, Tom, but have to live in the cold. Come to California and suffer with my wife and I who are both over 80 and pay through the nose and other orifices for insurance and gas.

Attorneys can and do the same advertising here in Washington. While there are some bad players in the insurance industry, I believe that most try to handle claims appropriately.

Attorneys say we don’t get paid unless we win ( or similar) . What they don’t say is that YOU have to pay court fees and such.

Some advertising as if they are local, but are based out of state. Multiple ads, from the same or competing companies are shown right after each other.

I filled up Friday here in Gallatin, TN for $2.39 a gallon. Actually, with my Kroger groceries discount, I only paid $1.39 a gallon. Considering inflation, that’s cheaper than the $0.30 I used to pay in the 1960s. I wish beef was as cheap.
