Reducing Local Crime with Risk Terrain Modeling

This online training course from the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) is a great way to learn RTM & support the non-profit organization. All registration fees$ *stay with IACA*!! Instructors donate their time through the partnership with Simsi.

This is an introductory level course. No prior skills in RTM, crime analysis, or crime prevention programming are needed. No specialized hardware or software is required. 

👀 This course relates urban design and place management to crime and crime reduction. The course is presented through the lens of problem-oriented policing and situational crime prevention to reducing local crime. It emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, community engagement, efficient utilization of resources, transparency, and sustainability. 

"A practical study of policies and programs that demonstrates how police and other local stakeholders can address crime vulnerabilities and exposures in the communities they serve through strategies that go beyond specific deterrence of offenders."
