MARCAN and Simsi are pleased to announce a Risk Terrain Modeling workshop at the KCPD Regional Police Academy on June 1, 2022.

Participants will learn about Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM), a spatial analysis technique that helps identify risky features in an area of interest that attract or generate crime. Law enforcement agencies, their partners, and other stakeholders can use RTM analysis to devise strategies to mitigate those risky features, ultimately reducing crime and victimization.

RTM works best through a team approach…although RTM strategies are often led by law enforcement agencies, municipal departments are frequently part of the effort. The workshop is therefore designed for LE members including crime analysts, front line officers, and command staff, as well as officials from municipal departments. All will learn how RTM works, review case studies, and be given insights to take home for further deliberation or implementation.

Participants will be given a certificate for completing the workshop. Refreshments and continental breakfast will be provided, too.

See the attached flyer for information and a QR code to register.  Please share with your work colleagues in law enforcement and local government, as well!

Space is limited. REGISTER at https://forms.gle/DyzubdzvY4DArnrQA
