TWAS-SISSA-Lincei Research Cooperation Visits Programme Young scientists from the Least Developed Countries who hold a Master of Science (or higher) degree are invited to apply for a three-month research visit to Centres of Excellence in Trieste or Udine, Italy. This programme supports collaborative research and training in fields aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Read more. Application deadline: 17 November 2025 TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme In collaboration with UNESCO and several centres of excellence in the South, TWAS has instituted a Joint Associateship Scheme to enable competent researchers from the South to visit these centres regularly. An associate is appointed for three years during which he/she can visit a Centre twice for research collaboration. Read more. Application deadline: 9 December 2025 TWAS Research Professors in Least Developed Countries Selected TWAS Fellows, Young Affiliates and Alumni may be appointed as TWAS Research Professors for one year at a host institution in a Least Developed Country, to help build lasting research ties. The objective of the programme is to provide institutions and research groups located in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with the opportunity to establish long-term links with TWAS members and TWAS Young Affiliates/Alumni to assist in research activities and advanced training and so help develop the local scientific capacities needed. Read more. Applications deadlines: 9 December 2025 Mental Health Research Fellowships The charity MQ Mental Health Research is accepting expressions of interest for their 2026 Fellows programme. These grants offer up to £250,000 over three years for early career mental health researchers asking challenging questions about children and young peoples mental health, self-harm and suicide, eating disorders and digital innovations for mental health. Application deadline: 12 December 2025 Nominations Open for Plowright Prize 2026 The £100,000 Plowright Prize recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to the control, management or eradication of infectious diseases of animals. The prize is open to individuals in Europe or the Commonwealth working in veterinary practice, academia, research organisations, industry, government or other relevant sectors. Anyone whose work demonstrates animal, humanitarian or economic benefit in infectious diseases of animals is eligible to be nominated. Read more. Application deadline: 31 January 2026
