San Jose fields are closed

Please be informed that all the San Jose fields are closed as of now. and we cannot use them until they are open! 

Please call this hotline number -> 408 794 6532, to know the status of the ground on the morning of the match day.

Hey Rajesh,

The hot-line says the grounds are closed as of "25th". If it's not updated tomorrow morning ( If it's the same message, date doesn't change) - do we consider the ground closed or use the city guidelines ?

In the event that the Field Conditions Hotline has not been updated or is unavailable, groups are expected to make educated and responsible decisions regarding field conditions. 

Fields will be closed if any of the following conditions exist:

• A steady rain is falling

• Standing water

• A lightning or electrical storm is occurring (evacuate the field immediately and seek shelter)

• “Squishy” sound made or “spongy” feel when walking on the turf and/or footstep leaves an imprint in the turf

• Have mud on the bottom of your shoes and/ or sod is removed easily with a cleat

Hey Pavan,

Yes, you are right. I got this clarified from Shesha too. 

if there are no more rains - and if the ground and outfield looks good, if the hotline is not updated for tomorrow, the matches can go on.

IMPORTANT: Playing CricBay scheduled games this weekend (weekend of april 26th, 2014)

Fellow CricBayers,

The games this weekend are ON as of now.. BUT, please note the following and you are absolutely required to follow them to the T.. We strongly recommend umpires and playing teams to follow this without fail. This applies teams playing in reserved AND UNRESERVED GROUNDS.

For San Jose games, call 408-794-6532 after 8am to confirm the status of the fields and oif they say Fields are closed for the day (that is either 26th or 27th), YOU MUST NOT PLAY

In general, For Fremont AND San jose AND all of bay area (all grounds including unreserved grounds), Field use is prohibited if any of the following conditions exist:

1. A steady rain is falling.

2. Standing water ANYWHERE on the field.

3. A lightning or electrical storm is occurring (evacuate the field immediately and seek shelter).

4. “Squishy” sound made or “spongy” feel when walking on the turf and/or footstep leaves an imprint in the turf.

5, Have mud on the bottom of your shoes and/ or sod is removed easily with a cleat.
