Training Them Young

My 10 year old daughter Nikki, in the  class fifth sat next to Simran with whom she  was  constantly  very  irritated.
Every day Nikki would complain, “Mummy, Simran does not do her work in the class and wants my notebooks all the time; or she takes my stationary and does not return it. She takes it home also. How do I get it back?” I had to give her new ideas  all  the  time  to  get  it  back.

Nikki wanted her place to be changed in the class so she would go away from Simran. I would keep reminding her  about the goal and  tell her that these were just little distractions in life and the goal was to do your studies well. And to remember that God had placed her there and to study for Him; because he only knew what work she was  supposed to do in the world. But, to succeed she had to focus all the  time and not let any thought distract  her  from  her  goal.

One day it so happened that Simran took away one of Nikki’s note-books and ran away at the end of school, Nikki was very disappointed, she  came  home  and  cried.
