to RiseCamp
Hello Everyone,
Thanks so much to everyone who has shown an interest in Risecamp. When
I started off with the concept of Risecamp back in January, I was
looking at it as an experiment to see whether we could hold a Barcamp
like event, but have a social, political focus. However, as the date
for Risecamp nears, I am not sure that the experiment has succeeded so
far.
I have received a lot of feedback from various people, and most feel
that they are still not clear as to what I am trying to achieve with
Risecamp. Most have felt that there are multiple concepts here , with
no clear indication as to what is the end goal. Many people have asked
for a mission statement, and more clarity on the outputs from
Risecamp. In order to find the right backers and sponsors I do realize
that we need to have a clear vision. Although, I have made attempts at
making the concept clearer, it still needs further refinement.
The other thing that I have realized is that there many similar
initiatives sprouting up all over India. We need to make sure that
Risecamp differentiates itself from those other initiatives, or maybe
collaborates with some.
As a result, we haven't got the kind of enthusiastic response that I
was looking for. The next step in my opinion would be to go back to
the drawing board, continue to talk to people and come out with a
clearer, much more effective plan.
My suggestion would be to continue to have discussions in this Forum
and then make a decision of holding an event. I will make sure that I
post many more updates on this mailing group aimed at driving
discussion and debate.
Please do write in and lets keep this forum alive.
Thanks,
Aditya
