I tried scheduling a suggested meetup, but it appears that will only let me schedule real meetups as an organizer.  Anyway, it was an attempt to get the ball rolling on the next meetup, as nothing appears scheduled yet.

I'd like to give the following talk, if there is any interest:

Compliant APIs with Webmachine

As web applications continue to move towards rich client-side experiences, the relevance of server-side rendered HTML diminishes. This is compounded by mobile applications consuming similar APIs as rich single page applications. This talk will discuss building lightweight standards compliant APIs with Webmachine, a REST toolkit written in Ruby. Webmachine provides a syntax which makes it easy to reason about your applications, while also providing an alternative to more heavyweight solutions such as Rails.

RIRUG will take December off. Happy festivus!

We will reconvene on January 16th, location TBA. Brian Cardarella will be presenting in January on... something awesome.

I'm interested in hearing about Webmachine. Chris, let me know if you'd like to present in January or be the headlining act at our February meeting.

Also coming up in 2013, I've asked Greg Brown (@practicingruby) to join us for a chat -- date TBD.

Well, back to creating a SOAP Web service in Rails! Wish me luck. #grumble
