Loudsnoring, pauses in breathing at night, and gasping during sleep are the most obvious signs of breathing difficulty that affects sleep quality. Other signs include restless sleep, regular tiredness despite having enough sleep (9-14 hours, depending on age), mouth-breathing while sleeping, or bed-wetting after being previously being potty trained at night.

Country Summary: Crime, including petty theft, carjackings, muggings, assaults, and other violent crime, is common in Peru and can occur during daylight hours despite the presence of many witnesses. Kidnapping is rare, but does occur. The risk of crime increases at night. Organized criminal groups have been known to use roadblocks to rob victims in areas outside of the capital city of Lima.

Demonstrations occur regularly throughout the country. Public demonstrations can take place for a variety of political and economic issues. Demonstrations can cause the shutdown of local roads, trains, and major highways, often without prior notice or estimated reopening timelines. Road closures may significantly reduce access to public transportation and airports and may disrupt travel both within and between cities.

U.S. travelers participating in Ayahuasca and Kambo ceremonies should be aware that numerous persons, including U.S. citizens, have reported that while under the influence of these substances, they have witnessed or been victims of sexual assault, rape, theft, serious health problems and injuries, and even death.

The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens as U.S. government personnel are restricted from traveling within 20 kilometers of the border with Colombia in the Loreto region, except on the Amazon River itself, without permission. This includes travel on the Putumayo River, which forms most of the Peru-Colombia border.

U.S. government personnel are restricted from traveling in the VRAEM except for certain areas during daylight hours. U.S. government personnel must receive advance permission for any travel to the VRAEM. The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens due to these travel restrictions.

I have an iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 17. When I attach my phone horizontally to the Anker powered stand I have, it goes into StandBy mode. But after 30 seconds, the screen shuts off. This, despite the fact that I have Always On selected in StandBy prefs. (It comes back on when I tap the screen.)

I have the same problem with Standby being set to Never turn off, yet randomly doing so during the night. A tap "wakes" it and there is no issue with the night mode being what turns on. I contacted Apple Support and they were stymied.

Personally, I think the problem has to do with the charger. At some point after the phone has charged something results in a lack of power (or maybe less power) to go to the phone, and then the display blanks. This is similar to a problem charging the Apple Watch where it periodically during the night lights up and beeps (if not in Theater Mode or set to Do Not Disturb). My gut says it has to do with power again flowing to the device.

I tried "wired" standby mode and it works as it should. If set to "Never", the screen never goes dark in standby mode ( expected behavior) . So this seems to be a bug with MagSafe charging and StandBy mode.

I think you're right; I contacted the company that made the charger stand, and they claimed that power is constant to the charger stand. However, when the iPhone is fully charged, it would make sense that power to the iPhone would be reduced significantly, which could lead to the iPhone going to sleep.

FOCUS MODE - Having FOCUS mode on makes no difference; I've tried it with it OFF all night, and invariably my iPhone 15 Pro Max goes dark sometime in the night. I have a theory about why (which I'll explain later).

I think the reason my phone goes dark is because it reaches 100% charge, after which my MagSafe stand (which is a Journey that I really like, other than this issue) stops sending a signal to the phone. The makers of the stand claim that current to the stand is constant, but I think it ceases to send a signal once the iPhone reaches maximum charge.

I'm glad you understand. I don't think the stand is the issue because this problem will likely occur when the phone is attached to a wire. At some point, it enters "trickle charge" mode and perhaps even stops charging. I don't have any way to verify, so hopefully Apple will see these posts and investigate. The Support staff are unaware.

This also happened to me, and also after a while when I tapped the display to re-show Standby the font would turn white instead of red (like the phone thought it was in a lit room). I was using a 'Night' focus mode. I made sure to turn off Focus mode before putting the phone on the charger and it seems to have mostly fixed it.

Note, Bob and I are talking about how standby mode works perfectly, EXCEPT, the screen goes dark several times a night needed a tap to "wake" to return to the standby display despite the "always on" setting.

I have the same problem. I have the Anker 533 3 in 1. it has a dedicated power cable and power supply. But the cable is USB A to C. So are you saying that that difference is a "traditional transformer" with barrel connector?

I have an iPhone15, not pro. The welcome email from Apple knew what model I have, and that same email advertises the benefits of StandBy mode. The only caveat is that it says "stand sold separately". Does that mean only Apple stands will enable the mode properly for wireless charging?
