People,
We have some exciting news to share about the future of RIPUL! After much thought and planning, we have officially transitioned from a for-profit organization to a non-profit. This change is an important step forward, ensuring that our league remains community-driven, accessible, and focused on growing the sport we all love.
Why the Change? Our mission has always been to provide a fun, competitive, and inclusive environment for ultimate players of all levels. By becoming a non-profit, we can reinvest all league revenue into more playing opportunities, player development, and community outreach programs. Some of these programs and activities are already in motion. This transition also opens the door for grant opportunities, sponsorships, and tax-deductible donations, helping us expand and improve our offerings.
What This Means for YouNo Major Changes to Gameplay: Our league, tournament, and social events will continue as usual
More Community Involvement: We’ll have opportunities for players and community members to get involved with activities that interest them and benefit the RIPUL community
Financial Transparency: League finances will be reinvested directly into the organization to enhance player experience, such as tournaments and clinics, some of which are already scheduled
Stronger Future: This shift ensures long-term sustainability, making ultimate frisbee more accessible for future generations.
We’ve also recently announced the appointment of some key members as part of our transition to a non-profit organization. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and passion for ultimate frisbee, and we are confident they will help guide our league toward a bright and sustainable future. All members of the board will be participating in supporting the league, as always intended.
Meet Our Board Leaders:President: Maggie Emerick - Leading our vision and strategic growth.
Vice President: Marc Gleason - Supporting operations and community engagement.
Secretary: Jenna Ramos - Managing communications and record-keeping.
Treasurer: Steve Panasuik - Overseeing financial stewardship and sustainability.
League Coordinator: Dan "Sticky" DiMascio - Overseeing summer league operations
Our new leadership team and the board will be focusing on strengthening our league’s foundation and future vision, with a greater focus on long term growth. This includes setting long term strategies which we’ve already identified, such as expanding opportunities for players, enhancing the overall experience for our community, and developing the next generation of ultimate athletes. With their guidance, we look forward to new initiatives, better resources, and a league that continues to thrive for years to come!
