Sam Black's Daily Decks article today reminded me of how awesome sacrificing things for fun and profit is. I've been trying to enable that theme by packing my cube with more sac outlets, particularly in black and red. Black, because it's fun to get chains of Gravecrawler + Blood Artist going; red, because you want to throw away creatures after they commit Treason.

This is where I need your help, though. I've never played with many of these cards, and I don't have room for all of them. My cube is Modern, so I don't get some of the best goodies like Goblin Bombardment. Still, though, there are a number of decent options. Help me rank them! Or just give feedback. Or let me know if I've missed a sweet one.

Mortarpod is better on its own than many of these cards, although the two mana to equip makes it clunky as a sac outlet. Grafted Wargear is also very powerful, with the biggest downside being sorcery-speed sacrificing only.

Pssh modern restrictions.

There's a new-boarder Carrion Feeder if it makes you feel better.
Birthing Pod and Sarkhan the Mad are usable sacrifice outlets.
Smallpox does some work here.
Momentous Fall is a possibility in the right environment.
Bone Splinters and Reckless Abandon are pretty usable sacrifice outlets / removal.
Cabal Therapy is fantastic.

therapy is one of the most fun and most beautifully designed cards ever, but i don't think it's playable in a singleton cube.

surprised nobody's mentioned cartel aristocrat.

this is a theme i tried (with bombardment) but i took it out since the effects were too marginal and too scarce to really build around. i.e. (singleton) cube can with some difficulty support zoo but can't really make the aristocrats act II.

Yes, Mortarpod! I can't believe I forgot that one, since it's actually doing good work in my cube right now. My ninja edit wasn't quick enough.

Is Skirsdag High Priest remotely feasible as a synergy card with the sac outlets?

Yeah, a lot of these effects are on the weak side until you hit a critical mass. They work wonders in my non-singleton. The other idea is to add a lot of things that like being sacrificed.

Assuming you are using Skirsdag in conjunction with a sac outlet, you need 4 creatures on the table: the sacrificed one, Skirsdag, two untapped. I can see it in a slower environment, but at the moment that's just not how my decks want to be spending their time. Let's put a pin in that card though, I have an upcoming project where it could do good work.
