Hi.
Are you referring to the bitcointalk giveaway ? My account is too young to be eligible. Is it of any use to add my address to the ripple forum thread ?
Hrs is not iso compatible and should not be used.
Most of the information is somewhere in the wiki, put is changing
often and still a little bit disorganized.
In contacts you can set labels (names) to the addresses. I have
trusted you for some hours.
There's a couple of gateways: https://ripple.com/wiki/Gateway_List
You can send EUR to bitstamp using SEPA and they automatically convert
them to USD.
I don't know if you can then withdraw to ripple for EUR since I
directly sold the USD for BTC in the exchange and deposited
bitstampBTC on ripple.
You must trust the gateway before you can withdraw from it to Ripple.
Think of gateways as "paid friends" that accept deposits and settle
their debts on demand.
After trusting and depositing bitstampBTC, bitstampUSD or bitstampEUR,
you can go to advanced -> trade
You have to select the issuer of each currency in the pair you want ot
trade (except for xrp that has no issuer).
The most active market is xrp/bitstampBTC, but there's some
bitstampEUR in the system too.
You can ask your questions on freenode #ripple and you have other
channels to see real time activity: #ripple-watch and #ripple-market
Of course you can ask in the new ripple forum too.
About trust, I see that three people trusted me with small amounts of what I assume are XRPs.Question: Should that trust not increase my available balance of XRPs? Otherwise, what is it good for, how can I use it?
Although you can trust xrp, you will not be able to pay with credit
xrp because the server will interpret the currency xrp as a cash
payment. I'm not sure about this though.
What Jaro proposes is what they recommend: just use another code.
Credit xrp can't serve as reserve because anyone can create an
arbitrary number of credit xrp and the reserve is precisely to prevent
spam.
Hey, ripple.com seems to be really going now... Let's all post our addresses so we can trust each other and bootstrap our own network:

Sorry for the noise, I read the ripple.com forum thread, but it is
talking about the launch of a giveaway on bitcointalk.org and then full
of people asking for XRP without "official" answers, so I was confused.

Cheers Jeff! Much appreciated. Do I send them back now that my account is enabled, or do I pass them on to others who want their accounts enabled?

"Current reserve fee schedule:
account reserve: 200 XRP
owner reserve: 50 XRP"
"The reserve is calculated as the: account_reserve + owner_reserve * owner_count
The owner_count is the number of ledger entries attributed to the account. This is a count of the number of open offers and non-default trust lines attributed to the account."

Not, yet understood how XRP money supply work and what/who is controlling rate of exchange. With Bitcoin it is set market and mining supply.
Looks like ripple.com controlling supply XRP and seigneuriaging from it.
Am I right?

I was confused by that too. There are two tables side by side. One
for buy offers and one for sell offers. The line from one table has
no special relationship to the line in the other. It looks like you
are supposed to read from left to right across the whole page but that
is not the case.
