Hi there,

I am researching Ryan's early paper, 'Money as IOUs in Social Trust Networks & A Proposal for a Decentralized Currency Network Protocol', and am trying to find 'the longer, significantly different first version' of the document as mentioned on the last page.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks so much for getting back to me with V1; it’s cool to see the earlier exploratory technical ideas.

Concerning the conclusion, I have spent the last few years working on a blockchain project that has implemented this very same monetary theory, and if adopted, would no doubt be a “great improvement over current systems.”

The design and architecture have been engineered by experts after years of R&D, and its applications across Fintech and Web3 are numerous.

Given you wrote the paper over a decade ago, is the simplicity and autonomy of such a system still something you are passionate about? If so, would you be interested in discussing it further with the team?
