I've started playing with credit for a bit of personal improvement using
Rain Droplet. With a very simple setup which anyone could do quickly and
easily, I made two connected nodes: one for my commitments and actions
and so on, the other for my goals or lessons. Credit limits allow the
balance to fluctuate between me feeling indebted to my practice or me
feeling entitled to indulge myself. I first paid a sign-up fee from my
actions to my goals to get the ball rolling, in exchange for a set of
reward options for doing certain actions. Of my list of actions, I've
been working on little universal ones to start, such as reminding myself
to smile and breathe throughout the day. So far I've earned a few
practice bucks, which I'm thinking of spending on improved menu options,
and I feel that the practice has actually improved my mood. Not sure
about my productivity, though. :)
