Version 1.4.0 of rippled has been released.

Furthermore, at least 80% of trusted validators have voted to enable the fixPayChanRecipientOwnerDir and fixCheckThreading amendments, which are scheduled to become enabled on the network in 9 days.

Action Required

If you operate a rippled server, you must upgrade to rippled version 1.4.0 before Friday, 2020-01-17 to ensure service continuity.

Impact of Not Upgrading

If you operate a rippled server but do not upgrade to version 1.4.0 before fixPayChanRecipientOwnerDir or fixCheckThreading are activated via Amendment, then your server will become amendment blocked, meaning that your server:

• Cannot determine the validity of a ledger
• Cannot submit or process transactions
  
• Does not participate in the consensus process
  
• Does not vote on future amendments
  
• Could rely on potentially invalid data
  

If the fixPayChanRecipientOwnerDir and fixCheckThreading amendments do not get approved, then your server will not become amendment blocked and should continue to operate.
