Hey TLAF folks,

I've seen (and commented on) a few threads briefly mention DVD Jacket
artwork and I wanted to ask directly: Can you add copying the JACKET_P
folder to RipIt?

I've done some research and the JACKET_P folder, if it exists, is just
a folder. There is no CSS or other copy protection on it. It always
contains three files: small, medium, and large MPEG-2 Stills (not
video). It can just be copies. Heck, system("cp -R /Volumes/TheDVD/
JACKET_P /path/to/TheDVD.dvdmedia/") would work just fine.

If you could do that, that'd be great. If you could _also_ extract the
still image so that I can use it, that would be even better.
QuickTime, MPlayer, and VLC won't play MPEG Stills, so there's not
much I can do to get the jacket artwork out of that file. (At the end
of the day, just having it in the JACKET_P folder would do most of
what I want, but it would be nice to also have it as a jpeg or
something.) It would also be a nice touch to use the still image as
the icon for the dvdmedia bundle. It would also be nice to use the
still image to embed inside the MP4 created by the Compress feature so
that iTunes shows something pretty instead of whatever frame is 2
seconds into the video (usually some logo).

Thanks!

JP

P.S. And, while you're at it, copying other files/folders from the DVD
would be great too. Sometimes there is useful DVD-ROM content. Rarely,
though.
