I'm working on getting some equipment to better test PowerPC based Mac
compatibility, but in the mean time I'm looking for any users that
could give me some test results. Some of the recent code changes are
endianness dependent. I want to make sure that I get the correct byte
order handling for PPC Macs.
If you have a PPC based Mac, can you try the lastest build 1.3.3f, to
determine if you're getting lots of rips that now fail in OSX DVD
Player or if they are playing fine. I'd appreciate any feedback you
have. If I've caused a bug, I want to get it resolved immediately for
you.
Thanks in advance,
Scott, TLAF

Would you check out the latest build 1.3.3g and test it to make sure
your rips appear to be working correctly. Do you have DVD2OneX2 and/
or Handbrake for additional testing. There are some new data
structures that I want to ensure the byte ordering is working
properly. Also, testing Surrogates, if you have that movie.
I'll have a PowerPC machine shortly so I can test more extensively
here, but I want to make sure I'm not breaking builds for you.
Thanks guys!

Disc 1 - Season 1 - The Big Bang Theory ( R2 )
FWIW, the "prod" version rips the same disk OK....
If so, could you possibly rip disc one, and send me a copy of just the
IFO files from the rip. This way I can analyze the structures to
compare to my Intel rips to ensure they're matching exactly. If not,
no worries, I'm hoping for my PPC machine to arrive any day now.
Thanks for all of your help!
Kind regards,
Scott, TLAF
I do indeed. Do you want from each version? The prod version, and
the 1.3.3g? I presume at 100% it will have finished the actual rip?

John
Is Season 2, disc 1 not completing for you with 1.3.3g? If its
failing, then there is likely a PPC issue as I can rip 100% on my
Intel machine.
If you're available and interested, you can email me directly at
scott(at)tlaf(dot)com, and I can try and send you a build or two to
try and solve it quicker than waiting for my PPC box to arrive. There
are only several new data structures that I believe would be the
likely culprit with endianness dependency. Thanks for your help and
no pressure.

Scott, TLAF
For those with PPCs and would like to test a fix:
http://files.thelittleappfactory.com/ripit/RipIt-beta-ppc.zip
This makes a minor change to two data structures' byte ordering. This
is the same base line as 1.3.3g but with small changes to deal with
the PowerPC. If you test it, please feel free to post your results.
For the Big Bang Theory, I've been able to rip Seasion 2, disc 1 on
Intel and would expect it rip the same on a PPC machine, if fixes are
working. I'll update again as needed until I know there aren't any
remaining PPC issues.
Kind regards,
Scott, TLAF
